Today, in our From the Register to History column, to mark the 80th anniversary of the Vespa’s patent registration, we have published the birth certificate of Corradino D’Ascanio (1891–1981), its inventor. Already a designer of innovative aircraft and helicopter prototypes, D’Ascanio applied his insights to revolutionise road transport as well with the iconic two-wheeled vehicle.
