Civil registry

The State Archives of Venezia preserve the Civil Registry of Venezia (1806-1815) fund, which collects the birth, marriage and death registers introduced in the department (territorial order of the Napoleonic era) with the Napoleonic decree activating the civil status offices in the municipalities, which remained in operation until 1815. From this date, until the introduction of the Italian state regulation, the functions of civil registrar revert to the parish priests. The search for sources for the period 1815-1870 must therefore be conducted in the diocese and parishes in the area.
